The Bloodgood maple is one of the most popular and widely available red Japanese maples, having been cultivated in the US since before the 1940’s. This large-leaved upright tree is very hardy and reliable for it’s deep black-red color which holds well throughout the summer. Bloodgood is a great Acer plamatum for the landscape with upright growth to 25 feet. Fall color is a deep crimson. Full sun, partial shade is preferred.
